Introduction The Empire of Kazoku is a de jure Constitutional Monarchy located on Micras. Kazoku is a Micronation based on Imperial Japan (Meiji Period to WWII). Kazoku is not a secessionist micronation. 99% of all things the Empire of Kazoku does are fantasy and role-play. Most citizens in Kazoku role-play as a key government official rather than a pauper because anyone else would have no reason to talk to the Emperor.

Chapter 2: The Emperor (1) OverviewThe Emperor is the highest authority in Kazoku on all affairs including but not limited to Government, Civil, Religious and Military. The Emperor is descended from Amaterasu (Sun Goddess) because of this he is a living god who is worshiped by his people. (2) NamingWhen an Emperor ascends the throne of Kazoku he has no personal name he is simple referred to as His Imperial Majesty the Emperor, His Current Majesty the Emperor, or Informally the Emperor. On all documents the Emperor does sign his Personal name which is called the Imperial Sign-Manual. Referring to an Emperor by his personal name is illegal and considered blasphemy. (3) Posthumous NameWhen a new Emperor ascends the Throne it marks the end of one era and the start of a new. Each Emperor’s reign is considered a era. When they die they are re named by the Imperial cabinet according to their era name, for example the previous Emperor is referred to as the Taika Emperor. Along with an era name each year of the Emperor is numbered, for example the year His Current Majesty acceded was 1978CE, the Taika Emperor died February 3rd of that year so the February 3rd year 1978 is known as Taika 16 and February 4th starts the Meiwa Era and is known as Meiwa 1. (4) TitleIn English his Majesty’s title is Emperor, and in most cases that is which he is referred to as. But the Romanization of the Imperial title is Tenno and Mikado which are still used. The Emperor’s style of Address is His Imperial Majesty (Heika). (5) MarriageThe Ninju Emperor in 1896 abolished the harem system for Emperors. Before this Emperors had main wife, the Empress, and as many secondary consorts as he wanted. The reason for this was because empresses would not produce male heirs to the throne on the first or second try. The Ninju Emperor abolished this because his Wife the Empress had three girls and his secondary consort had a male, this made her the Empress, The Emperor who loved his wife abolished this and became the first Emperor to ‘divorce’ his secondary consort. The Empress did have a male two years after this, became crown prince after the death of his half brother. The Emperor marries only women of the cadet branches of the Imperial family or women from other Princely families in Kazoku. (6) SuccessionThe Empire of Kazoku follows pure Salic law. Which means only a male can succeed to the Sakura Throne. Absolute Primogeniture is followed; the Eldest son of the Emperor is de jure crown prince upon his birth. In the event the Emperor dies without a male living heir, his eldest brother ascends the throne.
